Suggestions for stop-offs on the way too / from Oz

I am looking to take a month off in March / April next year to visit friends in Melbourne and Sydney (been to both before) and also check out Perth for the first time. I don't really mind which city I fly into or out of.

I am keen to try and stop over for a few days on the way out and _possibly_ the way back and visit other places I haven't been to before.

I can see China and S Africa as options (I am not really interested in UAE) but I was wondering where else people could recommend, and if anyone had any tips on airlines to check out.

I live in Glasgow, but can fly out from any UK airport.

I've already been to:

Thailand

Malaysia

Singapore

New Zealand (though it would be no hardship to go again).

I'm hoping to leave around the 8th March, back in the UK by 9th April.

Any suggestions appreciated!

Thanks

K

Thanks for the suggestions guys.

Can you recommend airlines which fly direct from the UK to these countries and on to Oz?

I guess I am looking for yeah - you could fly from Manchester to Hong Kong with airline X and then from Hong Kong to Melbourne with airline Y.

Thanks

You could go from Heathrow - Johannesburg.. then airlines like South African and Qantas go from Johannesburg over to Sydney and Perth.

Japan is nice

Can you recommend airlines which fly direct from the UK to these countries and on to Oz?>>>>>>> all the airlines have arrangements with each other....just select an airline

select multi city option

dates you want to travel

select city you want to leave from leaving gaps for the amount of time you want to stay

one of these days I will learn to click the preview button instead of the post button....

try this site www.wego.com

select the outbound airport and inbound airport and see all the airlines and options pop up. then start knocking out the cities you do not want to go through by opening up the "Airports" drop down on the left hand side and adding in stopovers

Book direct with airline!
