we will be arriving into Terminal 5 at LHR BA at 4.50am from Hong Kong and are scheduled to catch another BA flight from Terminal 5 at 6.40am, is this enough time for the transfer???
It SHOULD be long enough as long as your first flight is on time, obviously something that wont be known until the day. As long as its all one ticket BA wouldn't have sold you a ticket under the Minimum Connect Time and will take care of you should first flight be late.
Wen you arrive just follow signs to Flight Connections. And if you go to the Heathrow Airport website there is a section for connections that tells you exactly what the procedure is,
If you are on separate tickets things may be trickier.
Where are you going? If you are transfering to a domestic flight you will need to clear immigration and security, customs will be at your final destination.
For a flight to another country, you will only clear security.
If your first flight is ontime, then 1hr 50 should be enough.
Flying onto Edinburgh. Thank you for your advice, will cross my fingers that the flight is on time. cheers
OK here's the procedure for transferring T5 International to T5 Domestic:
Note you follow the signs to 'Flight Connections' and don't go through the usual immigration channels. Your luggage is checked through and you retrieve it in Edinburgh.
I understand that if your flight is delayed but you still have a chance of making the connection, you will be prioritised. Should you miss your Edinburgh flight, it is BA's responsibility to get you there (which usually just means they book you onto the next flight).Edited: 5:36 am, August 18, 2013
Plenty of time, as long as your flight's on time.
"Note you follow the signs to 'Flight Connections' and don't go through the usual immigration channels." - But you still have to go through immigration at T5.
Should be fine - I had an hour connection last week, including the train from sat C and even had time for a quick lounge visit too.
