Has any one had any problems with non-colour boarding passes

Hi All

I am just printing my Easyjet boarding passes out and was rather annoyed by the big colourful advert for National Express on each one! Anyway I have printed in black and white rather than waste a huge quantity of coloured ink on those ads.

They still look good quality but for peace of mind I thought I 'd check in case anyone had been given grief from any airlines for not printing in full colour.

By the looks have things I have still used half a gallon of ink on those poxy adverts! They should make these things as economical as possible to print out.

Hi Jools

Boarding passes printed in black & white are absolutely fine for Easyjet and will cause no issues at either check-in or at the boarding gate.

If you get a boarding pass from the airport that is not in colour is it? And the bar code is in B&W anyway which is the most important thing.

It isn't miniscule though Lien is it! The advert takes up a third of the page of each boarding pass, ink cartridges run out quickly these days and are very expensive to replace! Also I am an Environmental Specialist, I make a career out of avoiding wastefulness that includes wasting lots of Ink that takes chemicals and resources to make!

To the rest of you thanks for the posts, I reckon I have probably printed black and white before anyway. I'm just doing my airport parking confirmation and that thing has loads of coloured adverts all over it too!

I always print mine in B&W - greyscale too to minimise colour ink waste :-)

Remember duplex too! I've printed boarding passes for outbound and return flights back to back before now with no probs.

Re Duplex printing, don't do that for Ryanair as they tear the bottom off when you board, which would destroy your return boarding pass as well. Not sure if Easyjet do that as well.

Can't you select the appropriate portion of the boarding pass, and opt for "print selection only"?

Not everyone has colour printers so it's perfectly ok to print it in black and white.
