Is this a first?
well the falcons in Qatar get to have their own passport so why not FF points for our pets
Airlines make money off pet fees, so this is just a way to kick a (tiny) portion of it back to the customer in points. Just marketing.
Musicians that buy seats for their instruments set up frequent flier accounts. I'm sure there are plenty of cellos out there that have top tier elite status.
I think that is so sweet, why should'nt they have FF points.
Will pets qualify for elite status if they fly enough? I can just see a passenger barking mad as his upgrade to business class is taken by Mr. Fido.
at least with VA they will be in the hold where they belong, not in the cabin.

Only on Woofthansa :-)
Their other option may be Cat-hay Pacific .... ;-)
Pets in Australia don't get to fly in the cabin, period. I think FF miles for pets is cute - particularly if they fly freight often.
