Traveling through Canada to Europe

My son had a DUI almost two years ago and is traveling to Rome next month, connecting through Canada. Will he have any problem in Canada at customs and/or security?

Well, it's definitely a possibility. Our company deals with this with employees and it's for sure a red flag even with a single DUI conviction. Given that he's in transit and has a continuing ticket, it's likely that if he does encounter an issue he can work through it. But it's wise to be concerned. Our experience with this and other similar situations is that immigration is open to working out solutions for departing the country.

Yes, he definitely could have problems. He should have avoided this routing.
