I am a US citizen and hold a valid passport. I am going back to Chicago from Cochin - India. I have a ticket to Chicago from Gulf Air stopping at Baharain and London. The layover at London is 15 hours. I have a friend in London and my question is "Can I go out of the airport, visit my fried, and come back to continue my journey without any visa or do I require a transit visa?"

1. Re: Visa

US citizens do not need a visa to visit the UK, so yes.

If you have ever been denied entry or deported from the UK or another EU country then you will need a visa
