Why would they not serve alcohol on Good Friday?

It gets tricky on an Oz flight when it crosses the international date line and they rush back and grab the tinnies off your tray when the day goes back from saturday to friday.

Hans_DEN , because in some Australian states there are a lot of restrictions on serving alcohol on Good Friday.
