Does anyone know why these flights are so expensive? We have travelled in early January before, to Paris and London and always get flights for under $2000 AUD. For next year, Emirates and Qantas want between $2700 to $3000 for a multi city (Melbourne to Prague, then Zurich to Melbourne), and $2800 for a Melbourne London return.

Every airline seems just as expensive. I am not sure whether to book, or to wait and see if prices come down. In the past I have always found booking early to get the best prices, but it doesn't appear to be the case this year.
