Do you find the A380 rather draughty near the doors?

dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2279416/My-terr…

Why do these articles include the word " terror" and give the height the aircraft was flying at?

As if a door coming open is somehow worse at 27000 feet than even 270 feet.

Keep them seatbelts fastened

You know it makes sense

Never been in business class on Emirates

It's good to see that there is enough room under the seats to cower

If you can cower you can sleep?

Also the green light refered to in the story is a call button indicator not a door indicator

No evidence of oxygen masks falling?

One person got a chest infection??

Looking forward to him coming on here as a one post wonder and using the old chestnut " Worst.......ever.....do not use again

Daily Mail, very factual story?

Seat Guru does warn that it can be cool near the exit doors. I had an exit row on a Royal Brunei flight and it was the perfect place to chill down our bottle of white wine!

This has to be one of the daftest Daily Mail stories. Why do I feel that someone is about to try for a compensation claim? Which will fail.

However, it was worth it just for Numbat's post above....many KUDOS sent

Great advice

Q. What action would you take when the door blows open?

A. Place my bottle of white wine in icy draught to chill it properly

Style, class, and serenity in a nutshell

Kudos from me too

Threepoints to make here:

a. air will NOT 'rush in' to a pressurised aircraft - it will flow out if there is a hull breach;

b. the oxygen masks did not deploy. and

c. ensure you only carry quality Australian wine in the cabn with you.

I read the online comments to this story ( more entertaining and factual correct than the actual article, that goes for the whole of the Daily Fails stories) no one is taking him seriously, and people have pointed out that this just could not happen and explained why, although the person who said aircraft should carry spare doors just in case, did make me smile!

Oh dear. EK does seem to be having problems with its A380 doors.

I was on an A380 in December that was delayed out of MAN by 5 hours because they had to offload 39 pax and baggage because of a faulty door and they couldnt take off with the full compliment of pax as no door would be available for emergencies in the last few rows of Y.

What's good to remember is that there is no way the door can actually open while the plane is pressurised. The higher pressure inside than plane than outside pushes the door against the frame to form a plug. Howevever, seals around doors are never completely air-tight and when they get to the end of their life, they will leak more than a new one. Total non-story, typical Daily Mail!

Second article proving FAs make great use of duct tape ! Wasn't the last one where they taped a man to his seat ?

One of the DM's pics on this shows Y cabin not J? The next but one to the bottom of the page.

Perfectlyperth - off topic but when I see your posts I'm always reminded of your naked teddies trip to Antarctica! ;)
