Having recently travelled to Dubai for 6 days to participate in the Dubai marathon from LGW, 23rd Jan 2013, on EK012 0945 flight. We were greated at Dubai airport by Emirates staff saying that our luggage along with that of fellow travellers had not been loaded. Despite being delayed about an hour in taking off that morning because the wings could not be de iced as as we were still being loaded and the baggage doors were still open ? The reassurances we were given at the airport that our baggage was on the next flight and would be with us early next morning proved false. Trying to resolve with the customer services staff through out the following day was pointless, why they are called customer services I do not know. Assurances were given, and failed to be met. Eventually 1 bag arrived late morning, the remainder at 6.00pm that evening. A concious decision must have been made by Emirates management to leave our baggage behind in favour of carrying something elses. My requests for compensation fell on deaf ears. Do I and the rest of the passengers have a legal redress against Emirates, I had a contract with them to transport me and my luggage to Dubai which they failed to do.
