Too many men on the airplane

"There was more than the usual tension in the Liverpool departure lounge: easyJet’s morning flight to Geneva could not take off because it was too heavily loaded. As passengers mentally weighed their fellow travellers, the airline had to explain that some of them would have to stay behind."

Interesting article. Maybe airlines will need to weigh passengers s they do with luggage.

Interesting article ...... but only 4 people made the difference in weight? Doesn't seem much in the grand scheme of things. I would have thought the airline would have known from how many Mr titles were used when booking.

Does lead to the is it or isn't it intrusive to weigh passengers at check in. Some people can help the amount they weight and some can't.

Now if in this case there had been an equal amount of men and women, but a higher density of overweight people, would they still have to take it into account and how would they get around it, ask for some passengers to stay behind because they are carrying to much weight on board? Would it be down to someone's opinion at check in/boarding and how would it be monitored?

A collection. Presumably to be used to bribe people to get off.

Couldn't one of the women on board have left a handbag behind to solve the whole problem?

In one of the newspapers it was written that they had extra 300 kg and needed to offload to reduce the total weight.

Combine 6 and 7--I've seen some handbags that look like they weigh about that much!

Jeremymangu, you are asking for trouble!!

Now define "overweight". Someone of 5ft will naturally weigh less than someone of 6'6". So is the weight limit sizeist as well as sexist?
