Help with booking, please

Hi All,

Planning to fly PER-WAW (connecting through BKK and FRA) with Thai Airways.

PER-BKK-FRA leg would be with Thai and then FRA-WAW with either LOT or Lufthansa(I believe they codeshare). All 3 airlines are part of the Star Alliance group. What is the best way of booking these flights so they are on the one ticket? I have tried Thai Airways website, but it doesn't give me the option of WAW as the final destination. Do I need to use a travel agent?

Any help will be appreciated

Many thanks

Go to a travel agent: it might even cost less. But don't go to one of the chain agencies in a big shopping centre: Flight Centre, etc. The people there seem to be like call centre operators.

See if you can find an independently-owned travel agency on a suburban shopping street.

Hi,

I might also suggest you call Thai's local office (or the one closest to you).. In some cases, not every booking combination/possibility that's out there is bookable online..

While the majority or most popular ones are, in some cases, not everything is.. and in those cases where not bookable on-line, an agent can commonly do a manual fare/ticket construction and still make it as you want/need-- be that one ticket booking or the like.

Are you tied to Thai? Both Qatar and Emirates seem to offer one stop connections via their respective Gulf hubs.

Had a great flight with Qatar last year and wouldn't have hesitated to book them again. Unfortunately they are changing to B787 Dreamliners on the PER-DOH routes and ,according to early reports, seat comfort has taken a big dive. On a long haul flight that's my number one prority. I am now considering other options, including Emirates.

Thank you for all your suggestions. I'll go and see my local travel agent on Monday.

1) Try booking your itinerary on the Lufthansa website. The TG website is not as exhaustive. If PER-WAW doesnt work on thre LH site, do multi-city and select PER-FRA and FRA-WAW as seperate legs on the same day with 1.5-2hrs in between - this method has almost always worked for me. On 'my bookings' it will show up as a continous flight.

2) I will be very surprised if the seats on Qatar 787 are worse than the seats on their other long/medium haul aircrafts; infact I'd assume them to be better.

3) I would take a one stop option over two every time, unless the fare difference was large.
