Air New Zealand Up Grade Auction

Has anyone else done this? We did it on our recent International trip - were successful on the way there and were very happy but wasn't successful on the way back. There was space in PE so couldn't figure out how they worked this? If you are successful one way the e ticket says that the "Entire journey" is with the 2 bags not just the one leg that was upgraded but at the airport - boy do you have trouble with this and its not till you wait an hour until they get a second and third persons view do they say - yes it isn't worded very well and no you don't need to pay for the extra bag you have, when you are flying ecom home! Love to hear from anyone else...

You journey out and you journey back... two journeys on one round trip itinerary?

Hi

Would suggest you post your query on this site where there are many AirNZ FFers.

I think the issue was as its worded on the e ticket it is very clear that the whole entire trip should be taken at the higher luggage rate - thats where the staff haven't been trained and really have no option but to give the customer 2 bags!
