I took 2 flights with Precision Air in October (JRO – ZNZ and ZNZ – NBO). After checking prices on the airline website and comparing against external online booking agents I bought both flights on Expedia at a considerable saving.
Check-in at Kilimanjaro was efficient, the plane (ATR 72) surprisingly large and in good condition and on the 1 hour flight we were offered a complimentary light snack and drink. The flight departed and landed on time.
Zanzibar Airport is in need of an upgrade, with basic facilities for baggage collection and check-in. On our departure, there was one check-in desk operating and if passengers were connecting to flights in Nairobi and asked to be checked through, it took the operator 15 minutes per passenger/group to complete check-in. The airport’s x-ray facility for checked in bags was out of order so after check-in we were required to open our bags for security to conduct a hand search of our luggage. Amazingly, the flight departed on time and again provided good, efficient service through to Nairobi.
Overall, I would recommend Precision Air for flights within Tanzania and Kenya. I am a nervous flyer and seriously considered alternative options for travel but am extremely grateful I chose this airline for our trip.Edited: 3:41 am, November 08, 2011
