Air Asia Spoilage Fee

Hi All,

My holiday is only 9 days away and we are flying with Air Asia. A few nights ago we added our baggage, meals and in flight entertainment. We booked a in flight entertainment unit each (2) for Melbourne-KL but the KL-Melbourne one did not book. I today went and added just one unit (guessing ill be sleeping on the way home) but now our itinerary it only showing as 1 x unit and 1 x spoilage fee of $22.00 (cost of the 2 units).

Can someone please explain what this means and will we get 2 units on the way there and 1 unit on the way home or not?

Thank you!!!

I do not have details of the "spoilage" fee, but I am absolutely positive it was paid in full for the two evil brats in front of me coming out to Denver. I and others would have paid good hard cash to have had those two locked in the toilet for the entire flight. They wouldn't have been any worse locked up than what they were loose in the cabin. One tried to climb up the seat back to open the overhead during the flight and fell. I wound up wearing a cup of coffee. I have never wanted to snatch the ears off a child like I wanted to do them. Spoiled isn't exactly the term I would use.

This happen to me in a Jetstar flight in SG. I have paid for seat selection but the selection got lost and instead the money I paid for it become spoilage fees.

So what I did is make a call to Jetstar call center and demand that the spoilage fees to be removed and give me the seats I wanted!

Fortunately, the staff gave in to me and allocated the seats to me.

Found this at Air Asia's web site but it is still unclear what effect would it have to your booking:

<<<spoilage fees : difference of amount from previous booking that is forfeited>>>

That's a relief!

I was wondering how they could charge for rotted food before you boarded.

Thanks for the clarification.

What is a spoilage fee? I cancelled my booking because of this unknown fee being added to my account.
