Wat are peoples views on this airline? Has anyone flown with them to Kenya?
We flew with them last year and they were brilliant, staff very friendly, plan nice and clean, on time, food was very nice. We have booked to fly them again in just over a weeks time. If you can it is well worth going premium!!!!!
sorry to say that unless they have improved in the last six years I would never fly with them again, we few premium economy to the Maldives and the service was terrible, never again, qatar or emirates bisiuness class from now on
I don't rate them either. No back seat TV''s to start with. I certainly wouldn't care to fly with them again, not in economy class anyway.
I have just flown short haul and got very good service, no complaints, but not long haul because of the seat pitch.Edited: 2:49 pm, September 08, 2010
we flew to kenya in march and orlando in june with monarch both times they were ok..seats as good as any other charter.food was ok.ife was on over head screens but ok to watch.we would fly them again.
sorry i dont rate them either flew to cuba with them telly in the aisles not behind seats staff where friendly though
Just flew to Kenya and back with them.
Some wierd things, 23H00 flight out and they serve dinner at 01h30? And then annouce over the PA at 02H30 that they are selling duty free. So not much sleep on way out.
Way back 12H00 flight, had not eaten since 07H00 and they waited 02H30 hours to give lunch. And dinner was a dry cheese roll, person next to me had mould on it and the one in front a hair.
Bags were marked priority but took over 45 minutes to come off and were last off!
I do not rate them and would avoid. Virgin to Nairobi would be my choice now!
Agree wholly!never again on monarch!
Their service was appalling when Gatwick Airport was closed for snow.People who turned up to check in at Banjul Gambia were told at
10 pm to check in at 03.00.When we tried to do so, there was no one from Monarch there to inform us that the flight was delayed again.Indeed all the Monarch staff had rolled off home & didn't return till 08.00.All the information we received was from Thomas Cook staff who were there all night.
When I complained, they failed to appreciate that the complaint wasn't about the delay (although I noticed that Thomas Cook to Gatwick left five hours before ours)but the failure to communicate with passengers.
In essence their final comment was that once they had taken customers' money they weren't bothered about poor service unless an EU directive actually forced them to pay compensation
If they're offering a good price may,it may be worth living with the poor quality of service, but all other things being equal you'd be better off with anyone else.
As a 'frequent flier' I am surprised you chose Monarch for longhaul. I notice you're not keen on Thomsons either.
