United Airlines Boarding Policy re Kids

Does United allow passengers with kids pre-board? Is it after first class?

Thanks!

UA does not pre-board families/children. You board with your boarding group. If you want an earlier boarding group, have someone in your party choose a window seat, and you will be in boarding group 2.

Generally speaking as someone mentioned, they don't pre-board unless there are special circumstances. That said, the gate crews do have the discretion to do so if by looking at the crowd they think it will speed overall boarding.

If, other than the fact you have small children you have a reason to pre-board ask the gate crew. For example, my niece has a SEVERE skin peanut allergy, so her mom asks to board early so she can wipe down the armrests and headrests with a cleaning towel, just in case. They have never said no, in one case the flight attendant helped.

Domestic or International?

If international (Japan-US), the answer is yes. Before Business class or just about at the same time.

United Japan is really one of the best.

The GA can always choose to let you preboard, but don't ever count on this, as UA's official policy is no preboarding for families.
