I recently had an Expedia-related problem. We got our tix to PHX on USAir and the return flights from PHX were on Delta. All was well til we arrived at PHX and tried to check in at Delta and they hadn't heard of us. There we were so far from home and our names weren't on the computer at all. Talk about a surprise.

The ticket agent said sternly that this was a big problem with Expedia etc. etc. etc. He was a little cranky about having to fuss with the computers but in the end it worked out.

The experience hasn't kept me from using Expedia. They're often the best deal. When we were in PHX, they got us this wonderful golf resort at a hugely discounted price. I was grateful.

Ive used expedia a few times - for 3-4 trips personally, and i've recommended it to others - and there's never been any hint of a problem on part of the bookings.

sadly things do go wrong, but hey these things are sent to try us. a couple of dozen problems out of some 19 million customers isnt bad, surely?

unless of course you're one of the unlucky few. . . . . . and if you are, then just curse a bit, then get on with your holiday!

doe3001 has been thoroughly exposed as a fraud and a charlatan (using porn keywords to try to boost his Google rankings, getting banned from Google and then blaming it on Expedia for example) and he is best ignored.

This heretic is very selective with his quote so for clarity I have c/p'd the bottom two paragraphs from the article quoted which tells a fuller story than just one sentence.................

From Watchdog:

"Expedia has offered a refund in all of our cases and to cover the cost of any extra money spent in making alternative travel arrangements. The company says it’s disappointed to hear about customers who’ve had a poor experience, whether it was Expedia letting them down or not. The firm says it always strives to get every booking right every time.

The company says 99.85 per cent of its customers don’t experience problems with bookings. Expedia also says it doesn’t cancel bookings unless requested to do so by a customer. In addition, the company says that when customers receive a confirmation email their booking is confirmed with the hotel or airline.

However, the firm says the issue at the heart of these concerns is an industry problem: “It’s frequent practice for hotels and airlines to overbook to allow for people not showing up (‘no shows’), cancellations and early departures.”

So, 19M worldwide customers & 28,500 of them have had a problem. How does it feel to be a minority? Seems that no matter what Expedia do, the 0.15% which includes our doe will never be satisfied..............

I've used Expedia a few times now and had no complaints. the only time a problem appeared was when starting to book something there were some major changes so my solution was not to book it - simple! I will be using them again
