Castaways Vacation Club (aka Beachcombers Vacation Club)

Has anyone bought a membership in this club? If so, have you booked any travel through them? What was your experience in going through the sales pitch as well as the booking experience. Do you feel you saved any money?

Phoenix Vacations and Castaways are in together to diceive the public out of more than $5000.00 and you get what.....con. They have an office out of the Montgomery county by Sawdust/Raford area. Had some acquaintances dealing with them and was very dissapointed. When you are invited to attend that Phoenix Vacation club you are told to bring a valid drivers licenses and must bring a credit card. When you ask the advertisement company who is the inviting vacation club you are not told.

You get there and then find out who they are....so yu are not able to do a search about them before going to see how validity they are. Once you are there you enter this big room and are feed all things. I even asked if this program was a timeshare program and was told no....they have nothing to do with time shares....Yes...they did but hid the facts....It ended up being with Castaways.

When you join you are told you have 3 days to cancel and you can arbitrate if you are disatisfied (nope, you can't because they won't give you that information or even have you speak with an authorized Corporated accounting office....they have none according to Donna who works in the office processing your files.

After you cancel before the 3 day....you are then returned your money after 21 days and less because they charge you up from 15% fees....processing fees, and restocking fees...and .....you get less back and no answer to the disputes you have notice with them.

They take your money and run.....So, I plan on fighting mine and running them out of business for their attitudes with the public and I want to warn those to practice "BUYER BE AWARE". Now your are with me on the Phoenix Vacation group and Castaways Vacation Club....you get passed off.

Good luck.....Conroe, Texas Gal.....hispaniccitizensinaciton@juno.com

I am a Castaways Vacation Club member and I have had a very good experience with them so far. They have helped me plan trips, find the best hotels and get the cheapest rates. I see a lot of negative stuff about them on the Internet but when I asked their office about it I was told that some former and employees and current competitors and posting most of that stuff.

Based on my experience they are well worth the money!

We just returned from a Vacation Club presentation with Phoenix Vacation Club. In short, you are merely joining with the promise of purchasing vacations at a discounted price. We are timeshare owners and are able to get the same or better deals through Interval International or RCI on timeshare/condo getaways --without using our weeks. My husband is an airline employee, so we would use the discount air travel infrequently (and I wonder how much of a discount you really get compared to what is out there if you book early enough). The club didn't really fit our needs since we are aready able to get great getaway prices. They came down to about $3000 for a membership for us. The annual 199.00 fee will go on and on and on...to your children. They may say that you can sell your membership, however it will be hard to sell, because all you are selling is an OPPORTUNITY to get a discont on travel.. there is nothing tangible (like a timeshare or property) so don't believe it will be as easy as they say. The other problem I had, was ....what if they go into bankruptcy? what about the tight economy? The club would then be of no use. My suggestion is to check it out and see if this is the best fit for you, before you go commiting yourself to this club.

The Phoenix Vacation Club offers you gifts for coming in to hear their presentation.

The gifts that you receive for attending wind up costing you. We selected the cruise... with it there is a $50 processing fee per person, plus approx $90/per person in non-commission fares and taxes...so at best we are starting at $140/per person for this cruise.

The gas voucher of $300 has you spend $100 month at your favorit gas station and then you have to send those receipts in each month to get your $25 gift card. The $300 will mean that you have to spend $100/month for 12 months to get your $300 worthof free gas. You can check this out at www.freebeegas.com

Sorry man. You got scammed, but you are not alone. The got me too. There is a service there, but it is not of much value and the free vacations they promise to get you to sign up are straight lies. Loaded with restrictions even though they bold face lie and tell you they are not.

The freebies offered through "Leisure Time Travel" are a joke as well.

Good presentation though. Congrats to the criminals. They keep me humble.

Feel free to call if you find a way to get your money back.
