  "Excellent food and very attentive staff,at Siam. This is a lovely local,family run business. The menu is all in Thai,they do have one in english,just ask for it. We had 3 dishes,first was the satay prawns,delicious, second was crab rice,delicious,and third was a thai style deep fried whole fish,amaz..."ing,the fish was cooked perfectly. The restaurant sits right on the Chao Phraya river,it has two levels,with lovely views and amazing sunsets. Whilst we were there,a local band was playing on the second level,all songs were sung in english,they were not to bad. And there was also a clown,making for the children,balloon animals,love hearts and flowers,much to the delight of the children. I would recommend Siam restaurant for any occassion.   "River Tree House is a lovely restaurant next to the Chao Phraya River with good service. The food is slightly above average. Everything is cooked correctly but lacks anything to differentiate this restaurant from 100 others in proximity. In fairness, I would say that the variety of dishes availab..."le is well above average thus it works well for medium to large groups. Everyone can find something to enjoy. We had 8 or 10 different dishes. My favorite was a 'fusion' kind of appetizer - crispy wontons with spinach and cheese. These were quite delightful; crispy with just the right amount of spinach and cheese. For our second appetizer, we had larb moo tod (spicy pork cakes on the menu) which were fine but not special. The rest of dinner was also fine but not special. There is only one draft beer available in only a large size - Hoegarden. In fairness, I have lived in Thailand for 10 years and have a Thai wife so my standards may be a bit higher than most. But I do recommend this... " More >

  "We ate here twice on a recent visit to Bangkok, once for lunch and once for dinner. We took the river ferry to Nontaburi pier and caught a taxi from there. On both occasions we were lucky enough to have a great table right next to the river and had a wonderful time. At lunchtime there is more go..."ing on to watch on the river and the views are lovely; in the evening the restaurant is very atmospheric as it's set over different levels with good lighting and looks so romantic and cosy. The food is realty excellent and the prices are extremely reasonable. We will definitely return. " More >
