What an experience! :) We sat around the bar, which just happened to be the hot stove, and so, were able to watch the owner/chef, Masaya, cook us our wonderful delicious food!   "We stayed in downtown Furano, next to JR station but decided we couldn't give this famous cake shop/cafe a miss before we left Furano. So we trekked to west side of town, closer to the ski resorts. Across an open carpark, a lovely lodge perched at the top of a small slope. A lovely crafted pathw..."ay with wooden canopy took us up to the lodge. What greeted us were displays cases full of delicious cheesecakes, pastries, cheese sticks, macaroons and more. Gosh! I was ecstatic! Wish I could take the whole shop with me!! The kitchen was right behind the cake counters and we could see the cakes being done through the clear glass. The cafe area was completed with understated birch furniture. The view through the full length window was calming. It was worth coming up just to take in this view.
