"I have always liked the pizza and pollo asado. Patricia handled a large group of us in March and did a fabulous job. The italian food is great as are the salads. For an informal and inexpensive option on the Costa Ballena, La Fogata does not disappoint."
"We stumbled upon this little open-air restaurant after a morning on the beach at Playa Uvita. It is just down a side road off of the access road to the beach, and you will see signs for it on the access road. Sabor Espanol is owned by a couple who came to Costa Rica from Barcelona, Spain some year..."s ago. The food here is authentic Spanish cuisine, with the little twist that locally grown Costa Rican ingredients give it. We had Paella with Pollo (chicken) and pork and it was probably as good as I have ever had. There were three of us, and you need at least two for paella, as it needs to be cooked in a batch. It takes about a half hour, but when it comes out at this little restaurant it is definitely worth the wait! There was a lot and we thought we would take some home but we just stayed and ate it all. We had Sangria with our paella and it was also very, very good. I highly recommend Sabor Espanol--if you're in the Uvita area, don't miss it!
