"This is now called Power-Up restaurant. I have seen mixed reviews for this little restaurant but we loved it. It is situated quite near the food courts just along from the Golden Sands and the Lone Pine Hotels. I had a chicken curry kapitan (12 ringit) - very fragrant and spicy with lovely scented..." rice. My friend had chicken satay (9 ringit) and we shared a plate of behoon noodles. We had the most amazing coconut drinks we have ever had - I think they were fragrant coconuts from Selangor - wonderful, a meal in themselves! They also do Western food for those misguided people who don't like local food. "I love this restaurant at the Golden Sands. Although we stayed at the GS for 2 weeks we only ate here a few times as I prefer to go to the food courts and try the local food. However I must say that the staff are very welcoming and efficient here and I love the atmosphere since the refurbishment -..." its decorated in cream and green and is very restful and cool. I think they do the best beef rendang in Malaysia here! The nasi goring dishes are also excellent. I would recommend that you don't waste your money on the wine list - even at £35 a bottle it tastes like vinegar. Also the buffets are quite expensive when they have wine and beer included - you'd have to drink an awful lot of alcohol to get your money's worth! The buffets where they don't include drinks work out better value.

"Expensive seafood compared to many restaurants in Penang. Excellent location right on the beach, lovely service and attentive staff. Romantic little tables and huts.
However we also ate king prawns at the food market - 'Longbeach' which were $10 aud for 6!, which were tastier, compared to $40aud a..."t this restaurant .
We found too many other eating places cheaper so glad we experienced this but for too many other eating places
