"Incredibly creative food -- beautifully presented. Likely a once in a lifetime dining experience, though, in large part because of the price of the fixed menu. But the memories of one visit will last a lifetime.
The night we went, the menu consisted of about 17 "courses" -- the first 10 of whic..."h were simply "snacks". They were followed by 4 dinner courses and 3 desserts.
I found the menu to be a bit heavy on the seafood side, with 8 out of the 14 snacks and main course items consisting mussels, clams, and oysters, scallops, halibut skins, spot prawns, salmon roe and smoked salmon. There was no meat on the menu, which suited me fine.
Portions are very small. You will not leave feeling you have eaten too much, but you will have appreciated every flavour and enjoyed the presentation of every course.

"The Willows on Lummi Island in the San Juan Islands of WA state provided our family and friends with an amazing evening. The courses (and explanation of those courses) kept coming and the service was exceptional. We had to make reservations two months in advance and could not get reservations for S..."aturday evening because The Willows makes sure all the guests who stay with them have first access to their amazing dining hospitality. But Friday evening, we were seated in a private dining area and we enjoyed several hours of the best food and wines the Pacific Northwest has to offer. It was a magical evening!

Well, I'll be, I'm going there in one month an retreat, maybe we should eat there. Called them up and found out the price was $150 a person, not counting drinks. Whoa Nelly! I'm a foodie and all but is any place worth that much cash out for one evening??
A friend and restaurant owner nearly had a kitten when I told her I was thinking about going to the place, not sure about spending that kind of money for a meal. She urged me to make reservation, which they only take from non-guests 2 weeks or more in advance. (Which I did) Then she suggested watching the movie "3 Stars" which is all about the Michelin ...
