Clean but a bit dimly lit at night. The food is diner food. If you do not like diner food, stop at Subway or McDonalds. This is different and that is why I go there. I love their Reuben sandwich, tuna melt or tuna sandwich. I haven't had much else, but my friend has had the manicotti and says it's excellent. Despite the improving reviews, I note that there are still reviews by people who need to recognize their limitations and stick to shiny, cookie-cutter, chain places on the Interstate. Sometimes the staff gets a little tired, but my server notably greeted everyone as they entered, whether they were her customers or not, and regardless of what she was doing. Relating that to speed of service, I was greeted before I was entirely in the door, seated immediately, and served quickly. Can they get slow? Probably, but there is also probably a reason, whether you see it or not. A final note about a recurring but thankfully infrequent reviewer comment that the place is dirty. Old does not equal dirty, and this place is not dirty. I have always liked this place, and it is a nice break from long road trips! " More >
