Crystal was doing the tables and her hubby was in the kitchen. That is always a great combination. Assures that service will be prompt and cheerful and food portions will be man sized.   "On a long trip from Virginia to the Thousand Island region, Manni's was a friendly & welcoming place for this weary traveler. I had been driving all night, and made a special stop to find Manni's so that I could take a box of doughnuts to my hosts. I was expecting a doughnut shop, but Manni's is als..."o a local diner, so I had breakfast there, too. A wrong turn on my way there told me that this is a working class neighborhood enduring tough times. The owner, Manni, had a cheerful greeting for everyone that came in, calling most folks by name. When I expressed interest in breakfast to brace myself for the final third of my trip, he brought me coffee, the morning paper, and a great breakfast of eggs, sausage & home fries in short order.
