"We were in Taos and looking for something other than fast food for lunch. We ended up at the Gorge Bar and Grill. The atmosphere is pleasant, the food really good and the pleasant young lady from Argentina who waited on us was fabulous. Our friend ordered the spicy green chili sirloin stew and sh..."e asked if he liked his food really spicy, then suggested that he sample before he ordered and brought him a small dish to taste. He did end up ordering a cup of the stew with half sandwich, he said both were great. I ordered the soup of the day (vegetable and fabulous) and asked how big the bowl was, she advised that i would likely be happier with a cup. I hope the management of the Gorge knows what a gem they have in her. Staff like that brings customers back again and again.

"My husband and I ate dinner at the Downtown Bistro a few nights ago. It was our first visit to the restaurant and we were a bit apprehensive about going in since there were very few cars in the parking lot. Nevertheless, we decided to give it a try and were very glad that we did. I chose to have ..."the lasagna and my husband selected one of the night's specials, the bacon-wrapped pork tenderloin. While waiting for our meals, we were directed to the olive bar for some delicious appetizers. Our dinners were both tasty and plentiful. The meat sauce that accompanied my lasagna tasted homemade and was loaded with beef. My husband's pork was tender and juicy. Each meal was served with a yummy tossed salad that had an olive oil dressing. We also enjoyed a glass of wine with our dinners, mine being a Pino noir and my husband's being a Cabernet blend. We recommend this restaurant highly and will go there again on our next visit to Taos.

"Probably one of the best burgers I've eaten in New Mexico. Hot, reminds me of the Great burgers at Bob Cat Bite Santa Fe. The burger at 5 Star has a brioche bun which keeps pretty much everything in order. Most buns fall apart
when something like green chili is added."
