"Located opposite the old port of Sidon, on the waterfront, is located in a medieval fortified complex. The restaurant has a secure car park and is accessed first floor. The interior is extremely elegant and refined and re-create a Mediterranean-islamic atmosphere. The restaurant is large and spaciou..."s, there is also a beautiful terrace overlooking the sea. The service is quick, well-kept as rarely found in the West, the staff is very friendly although not all speak English. The menu offers the best of Lebanese cuisine. Some dishes are excellent, such as tabbouleh, labneh in the ail, rkakat au fromage, the meat and grilled fish are absolutely delicious. Being a practicing Muslim restaurant there is no alcohol, the clientele is mid-upper class but the prices by Western standards are really low. I've been there several times and also with the family and despite being based in Beirut, I always have liked a half hour drive to go to eat Zawat.
