"During my recent trip to Mississippi to visit my son, he suggested that we meet him at Bozo's for lunch. You know you have picked a good restaurant when the line of locals stretches almost to the door. Bozo's is both a restaurant and a fresh seafood store. It is nothing fancy.... looks almost lik..."e an old time country store. But the food is delicious. I ordered the fully dressed oyster po'boy, my wife and son ordered the shrimp. Both were great. The potato salad was good too. They yell your name when the order is ready. The food is served in sacks that you take to a table to eat, or for carry out. Don't throw the sack away. Your order is written on it, and you use it to pay for your meal. It was a very enjoyable lunch.

"This was my kind of place. More a seafood market rather than a real restaurant. You order sandwiches and fried food at one counter; shrimp, crawfish, crabs to be steamed at another. Many more locals, lots of take out. Food stamps accepted any many people were using them. Great prices-- 1 lb of s..."teamed shrimp, potatoes, corn for $9.99. Crawfish $2.48/lb. 10 piece fried shrimp-- $4.99. Plan on getting messy with the peal and eat. The mild seasoning was plenty spicy for me. I would definitely venture off the highway to this find.

There are 2 long lines at the rear of the store, 1 for crawfish and 1 for fish and shrimp. To your right is a deli counter. Where do I order a poboy? I'm not standing in those lines. I caught the eye of a woman behind the deli counter and we played the staring game for a few minutes until she turned her back and disappeared. I guess I won? Finally another woman asked if I needed help. (Thank you!) I inquired about ordering and she pointed to a little old man at a table. Ah, the cranky tool room guy from the shipyard. Yay. He takes my order on a bag and throws it on the counter. It didn't take very long for my order but I had to keep moving around the store to stay out of pe...
