"This is my first visit to Crave in downtown MSP having visited the MOA branch a couple of times. Crave, is a modern American restaurant with a flavor of Japanese with a substantial sushi offering.
This visit was with 5 other work colleges in town for a trip. The biggest deciding factor of this ..."visit was the half price wines on a Monday night. Its not advertised very widely but does cut the bill significantly, especially for 6 people.
We got the Sushi boat (ship) to start. It was actually very impressive in size (Around 50 pieces of sushi) and quite varied. The fish was very fresh, the rice clearly also very fresh and ranged from plain fish on rice to very spicy offerings. There was not a morsel of food left at the end.

"Kolachi's were delicious. Brats and sausages that we grilled at home were loved by everyone. The Kielbasas were the favorite. Chicken French apple also was tasty. The only that did not get rave reviews was the bacon cream cheese brats. The brat buns were also great, better than anything at the s..."upermarts. Service was very helpful, seemed to know what they were doing. Just a nice change from the big box stores.

This visit was just a quick one where ordered a serving of the risotto (chicken and wi..."ld mushroom risotto carnaroli rice pinot grigio taleggio) and one of the pasta (tortiglioni rossa sausage sweet peas roasted peppers romana rossa sauce). I decided on the starter sized as I was not hungry and, surprisingly for an American restaurant, it was actually quite small, which is a good thing for me but might disappoint those expecting a bedpan sized option. The flavours of both were very nice, well seasoned, fresh produce, just what is expected but without being overly special. Again, probably a good thing that it does what it says “on the box”.
All in all Zelo is a very nice restaurant for middle of the road Italian food. The food is always fresh, hot and does exactly what ...
