"Location: Excellent! Our table was on the beach- feet in the sand. Even the "indoor" area has an open feel because it isn't really closed off. We had a car, and it might be a little out of the way for people staying downtown and hoping to walk to/from dinner. (Check other reviews to see if anyon..."e biked or walked.) Looking on Google maps, it appears to be about 1 mile (20 minutes) from the SB pier. The sidewalk runs out on Shoreline Drive from what I can tell, but I think you could just walk on the beach. It is close to Santa Barbara City College.
Service: Excellent! We took a long time ordering because we were so engrossed in talking with our friend, and everyone was patient. The waitress gave us good recommendations, and when it got cold, we moved off the beach "indoors" next to some heaters. We talked until well after closing, but never felt rushed.
Food: Very good. I have never liked fish tacos until I had the catch fo the day fish tacos. Yum!!! I live in SB and w...

"In an age when "casual" is in, even ripoff-expensive "casual", it's nice to have a lovely traditional restaurant with nicely set tables and courteous, non-intrusive servers whose names we'll never know and don't care to know, and excellent food at reasonable prices. I recommend it as a place to br..."ing family or out-of-town visitors. And if you really want "casual", visit "Longboards" bar upstairs, where they serve excellent casual food and drink at very reasonable prices. Longboards also has a large open deck with fabulous views of the harbor and Santa Barbara. This is a restaurant our city can take pride in, and which will be here long after many of the "casuals" are gone.

"My boyfriend and a couple of our friends made a day trip to SB last weekend and decided to head to the wharf as we had never been there before. We decided to dine at Longboards because of the outside seating and wide range of items on the menu. We had an adorable waitress who was probably the most a..."ttentive and friendly server I've ever encountered while dining out. The drink menu was huge and full of variety. I settled on the Bloody Mary which was delicious and had a big shrimp cocktail on the rim! My boyfriend and his friends each ordered a mean tai which were quite potent but still tasted great! We tried out a bunch of different things on the menu but my favorites by far were the seafood tower (a variety of super fresh seafood on ice) and the lobster tacos (simply amazing). The ocean view and sunny weather just topped everything off! We cannot wait to make our way back to Longboards the next chance we get!!
