"We were in Los Olivos for an afternoon. We had also done some wine tastings and were looking for both a restaurant for lunch and, more importantly, a rest room. There seems to be a shortage of restrooms in Los Olivos, although they interestingly enough have some publc porto-potties, not our cup of t..."ea. We stumbled on Sides when another restaurant was full and a couple of more casual restaurants didn't have rest rooms. Yes, Sides has a rest room, but it's only one for men and women, and there's usually a line (don't Los Olivos people have to...?). The menu is upscale, eclectic, and well executed, with an impressive wine list as you might expect in wine country. Whether meat, fish or tasty sweet potato fries, there's something for everyone. It's in the former location of a hardware store from years gone by, hence the unusual name.

"We had no reservations and yet they found a spot for us. We were grateful and ended up with excellent service and wonderful food and wine. Many may balk but the fried brussel sprout appetizers were worth the price of admission even for those who don't usually care for Brussels sprouts. Then came t..."he lamb sirloin, wow and wow. Delicious.Great wine selection and decadent dessert. Don't miss this place, but make a reservation the word is out about how good it is.

"The Los Olivos Cafe is a great place to stop for lunch when visiting the wine tasting rooms around this small quaint town. I stopped in on a Saturday afternoon and the place was busy but a table for 2 was ready in a few minutes. Started with the grilled flatbread appetizer; it was excellent and se..."rved with a generous portion of hummus and some olive topenade. The special of the day was a Cuban sandwich, which was very good, although the meat was a little on the dry side. Served with a salad or fries; salad was the better choice since we also had a appetizer with bread. They have an excellent wine list in case you haven't had enough from all the wine tasting rooms this tiny town offers. All in all a very nice place to enjoy lunch; they are also open for dinner.
