"Led to this place by a friend met during my travels. She had a late-night hankering for pancakes. By zounds - they tasted just like home with a helping of butter and syrup to boot! The taste just oozes of home... I'm positive the mix and syrup are imported from home - how else could it not be? S..."yrup that I've had in four and a half months comes no where near this one.
Anyone itching for the flavors of "home" can come here. While its mainly an ambiance of a "sports bar" - the restaurant serves a great variety of foods. Also available is a small helping of foods to accommodate the Ayahuasca diet.
The place is accessed via a spiral staircase. Adirondack chairs abound and a couple couches. Decors to remind one of the home 'sports bar'. Sidewalk seating also available.
Perhaps the most redeemable feature of the place is that they serve cold drinks seriously ice ice cold.
Another bonus?? Its open 24 hours

"The people who run this cafe make the place, their are so laid back, helpful and friendly, they'll give you good advice of anything you need to get, see or do in Iquiotos. They speak French, English and Spanish. The staff are really lovely, Gabi always with a smile.
The menu is quite extensive form..." local fare, to pasta, sandwiches, salads, hamburgers, fish, meat and curries, well priced, tasty and well presented.
Wine and beer good prices and they do a jug of Pisco sour for a good price...if you can handle a jug! or good and cheaper if sharing.
Open from midday to late, closed on Mondays.
Go there and lounge around on the comfy sofas in a relaxing atmosphere, free wifi and a great place to meet others. It's the hub of social life in Iquitos!!!

"The Amazon Bistro is in a great location on the promenade riverfront, open all day until late, it's the perfect place to chill for breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea or dinner.
An extensive menu from salads, fish, meat, pasta, hamburgers, but then there's the crepes, french toasted sandwiches, escargo..."t, creamy mushrooms on toast...delicious!
The prices are excellent, good portions and well presented.
They make good coffee, the best in Iquitos, they have a proper machine for espresso and cappuccino's.
The staff are really friendly, it's a lovely building and the interior decor has a great french cafe feel. A great place to hang out in Iquitos, free wifi too.
