"Short walk (~1.5 km) from the South entrance of Shwedagon Pagoda. We chose the one on the left with local food. There are some korean and malaysian options nearby as well.
My favorite food here were the mutton curry and some type of blended aubergine. You just point to the kind of food you want fr..."om the counter, the waiter takes your order and brings it to your seat. The food is priced higher than most places in Yangon. Each dish is priced differently with the meat dishes priced above 2500 kyats per bowl. The meal is accompanied by soup, salad with fish sauce and dessert as is the tradition.
The place is quite crowded during lunch/dinner times, hard to find a place to sit. But the staff were very eager to help and very attentive in spite of the crowd. It is a great place to try different varieties of burmese food.

"My partner & I ate here on 19th May for our last meal in Myanmar, before we flew back to rainy old England...
The views from the top are good, bearing in mind there isn't much to see in Yangon... You can see the river and of course the large Pagoda which stands out from most other buildings.
Onto ..."the restaurant; it is quite expensive in comparison to the rest of Burma, but then again, the surroundings are smart and the service was great.
My partner initially ordered a Greek salad, but she found the Feta cheese to be off - this was immediately dealt with and replaced with a Caesar salad, which was excellent. After two weeks of interesting Burmese food, I needed a change and had the Sky Bistro's Club Sandwich with Fries - it was smashing (I know, not very healthy, but I didn't fancy the fried Locusts!) :-)
We enjoyed this restaurant and I was happy to spend a little more in order to have a good meal before the ~15 hours of flights back to London.
We'll certainly go back to this res...

"Wanted to try some cocktails as it was happy hour but the bloody mary which is called the "best one in Asia", was really just tomato puree with a little tabasco and low on alcohol. My friend ordered rum sour that was just ok and low on the alcohol too. I would just stick with beer here.
The staff..." is a little too attentive with about 4 of them asking us if we had ordered after we ordered and more asking us whether we needed a refill after we already asked for another one. They are always hovering around, makes you a bit uncomfortable.
The ambience otherwise is really good, you can play pool and the music is good. Looks like there is something interesting going on every night.
