"Well, we never dined here as we were booked elsewhere and their restaurant was closed that evening. However, as we live in the vicinity when we're in Wildhaus, we wanted to give it a go even if only for a drink, for which they were open. Plus I find the name of the place HILARIOUS.
We were pleasa..."ntly surprised. The place is owned and run by a couple who are passionate about local and seasonal produce. They pride themselves in preparing only good quality local ingredients and therefore the menu is very limited as are the seasons. It has less than 10 items on the menu. Next time round, I will give it a go.
It is a cute little wooden chalet, just as any other in the Alps.
They also sell home made jams, jellies, preserves, mustards, sauces and dressings, again from local produce. They are on display in the corner of the restaurant.
Service was very good and the lady owner was very friendly.

"This is a nice restaurant located a few minutes above Wildhaus. To get there, drive or walk by the popular hotels such as Sonne & Hirschen and the Gamplüt cable car station is around 500 metres up the road.
One must take a short 10 minute cable car ride up into the Swiss alps (chf 10 one way or c..."hf 15 round trip) to get to the restaurant. You need not pay before boarding the cable car, you pay upon your arrival at the restaurant.
The food is pretty good. You can either dine cafeteria style or seated and be served. I had Züri geschnetzeltes form the self service cafeteria and I was well impressed. It was very good. People is my group only had fries and franks which were both decent.
The views are also to die for with the restaurant perched at the top of hiking route where several people either hike down or sled down.
Visitors to Wildhaus must know about it. After dining one can take a leisurely but gorgeous 45 minute hike/walk back down to Wildhaus.
Best thing about it i...

"We stayed in The Hirschen Hotel with Friends for a short ski holiday in February 2013. Hotel was very nice, some rooms a bit dated but very comfortable. Quite quiet when we were there which was a bonus !
Kids loved the bowling alley and swimming pool and staff very freindly and helpful (even wit..."h four kids running around !). Hotel restaurant was nice, food good but service quite slow (but not a problem as very relaxing atmosphere). Great location with free bus collection outside hotel to ski lift only 2 minutes.
Wildhaus is small and very pretty but skiing is excellent and extensive for all levels as multiple lifts and cable cars go to two nearby villages. Facilities very, very good and we will be returning.
Only downside is how expensive everything is but this goes with the territory when skiing ! However, Wildhaus and the Toggenburg area is worth the money.
