"We stopped at this restaurant for lunch whilst on a day trip to Anzio, and had a very good (if simple) meal. Homemade pasta with rockfish was really very good and my partner's linguine with clams was equally good, although the clams were a little on the small side. The restaurant was very busy, an..."d locals seemed to be tucking into all manner of excellent-looking dishes.
Personally, I could do without the chef-patron parading around the restaurant explaining the dishes - I thought waiters did this, and wondered why he wasn't in the kitchen. Waiting staff were good though, and when I received the bill and mentioned that we hadn't actually been served any bread, they knocked double the amount off the bill, which was very gracious.
