  "We visited The Chequers as a group of almost 30 women on a hen party. We'd pre-booked so we had an area set-up for us with a glass of cava on the way in. The table was a tight squeeze but there was no other way of fitting us all in for a meal. We were served three courses, semi-buffet style. The sta..."rters (prawn cocktail, fish cakes, bread & cheese) were tasty but it was a bit too much seafood given that the main was fish & chips. The main course was a bit bland but there was plenty of food. The desserts (lemon meringue, cheesecake, tiffins, chocolate mousse) were delicious. Service was extremely friendly and efficient.
