"Nice cool place out of the crowdy Athens, with delicious food, kind service and logical prices. It was a surprise for me because it seems like a usual greek taverna but after the dishes start to come surpises are hidden .
Me and my family we will sure visit it again."
"I must say and having travelled to Greece on numerous occasions, being Greek born, now residing in South Africa, that never have I enjoyed better service and food than in this traditional Greek eatery.
We started with mouth salivating and perfectly barbecued "kefalakia" (lamb heads), followed by ..."the oh so traditional "kokoretzi" (lamb offal wrapped in intestine), then "kontosouvli" (lamb chunks threaded and barbecued on a rotisserie), then "paidakia" (lamb cutlets). The traditional "horiatiki" salad (feta, tomato, red onion, green pepper and cucumber) we had was fresh and so crisp that the green pepper slices when bitten, exploded with juice! "Kalyvia are famous for its meat taverns. Either it is summer or winter, day or night, weekday or weekend, eating at Trigono will always be enjoyable!
Having almost every type of meat cooked on charcoals (most Europeans believe that its not that healthy, but in Greece is as popular as the sun), yo..."u must try very hard not to salivate! Portions are extra ordinary and if you are alone or just a couple it is very possible that you will be leaving this place with food for the next day! (Yes, they are giving take away -if you want- what hasn't been eaten).
Although crowded, service is most of the times quick and helpful. Food is yami-yami!!! Try paidakia (chomps), pork or beef stakes, tzatziki, Greek xoriatiki and freshly chopped potatoes and you will be amazed from the XXL portions!
As I work 5 mins far from Kalyvia, my colleagues and I have been exploring all the 3 taverns available. Trigono has its own flavour, standing at the left most angle of a triangle pavement.
I apologise...
