"I had seen a write-up about the Sanctuary and thought it looked interesting, but I, myself, wasn't that interested. Mitchell Ray, an "unofficial" host of the Gecko Bungalow in Ladyville, took us out there - as well, he spent the entire evening with us! Evan Sims is the Wildlife Biologist at the san..."ctuary and he was our tour guide. We trekked through the "jungle" (I think that's what it was) and saw different things; as well, we saw several crocodiles and even got to hold and have our pictures taken with a baby croc. It was a very interesting tour and certainly learned things that we didn't know before! The tour ended with an opportunity to catch some shrimp and then eat them at Captain Hook's Shrimp Restaurant & Bar - what a way to end our first day in Belize - quite a welcome! I would highly recommend that everyone add this to your itinerary!

We were encouraged to visit the crocodile sanctuaries (separate environments for the fresh-water and salt water crocs) while the biologist attended to some unexp...
