"This was our 2nd visit - we visited last year and could not wait to return!! The experience is like nothing I have ever known.
There is no choice of menu - you eat what you are given. There are appetizers, starters, mains, dessert, wine and coffee. All this for 25 Euros per person.
The food i..."s fabulous - traditional, good, home cooking!!! The master Zi serves you and his passion and dedication to his restaurant is amazing.
The wine is local and created especially for the restaurant.
I eally cannot tell decribe the experience - it's a gastronomic delight, which I almost want to keep to myself so that it never changes.
If you go nowhere else in Evora, you must eat here!!

"Who needs a menu, I absolutely loved this place. We managed to get a table in this lovely little restaurant at short notice. It really is advisable to book ahead. When you enter first, The Master Zé ushers you to your table as he entertains his guests in a light hearted jovial atmosphere! I loved ho..."w he brought different foods to the table to start and you could sample these before your main course. The main course was black pork so succulent it doesn't need a knife, it literally falls from the bone and delicately melts on our tongue. The flavour was fabulous. The house wine he served was lovely with every course. You don't choose from a menu, you are served the foods of the day. You are seated and brought your courses without having to order anything, all the time The Master Zé provides the entertainment. It was simple and fabulous. The desert was so good that you just cant help but smile as you taste it. I strongly recommend a visit here for some excellent traditional regional Portug...

"This restaurant is one of those few places where everything is just right. The host is warm, funny and helpful. The food is local, freshly made and simply delicious. The setting is picturesque and authentic. There is no menu, in fact the owner is very proud of that. Make you sure you book ahead, bec..."ause as soon as you arrive you will have various local starters arrive at your table, a special house wine in your glass. Once you have delighted yourself with these, them main course arrives which is always an oven cooked pork with "esparregao" (cream spinach) and square chips. Desert is also a local speciality and is served with coffee and a local port style wine. Not suitable for anyone who is on a diet or who does not eat meat.
