"We had dinner at Luchin in Chiavari during our April trip. It is famous in the region for farinata a kind of thin crust pizza. We sampled the pasta, pesto that is heavenly and veal. My husband had minestrone with pesto--the best he has had in his life!
The food is amazing but it's hard to cho..."ose the one thing that makes Luchin so special. The food, the wine, the atmosphere that feels like all that you dream Italy should be. The service was amazing! We spent hours there and ended the evening talking with one of the owners--Luca. Truly a night to remember and it will be our first stop on our next trip to Italy.

"Located on the Piazza Cavour, this restaurant is a bit off the beaten track but well worth the search for it. I tried two local dishes here. One was call gattafin which resembled a pierogi only with a filo-like pocket rather than a heavy dumpling. It was stuffed with “Mediterranean herbs” but they t..."asted like spinach. It was excellent however. The other dish was a trofie (Ligurian pasta) with a walnut sauce that was very light and delicate. It was wonderful. The only downside to this restaurant was that it didn’t open until 7:30 and we are early diners.
