I was doing research at the local archive, and we were both students, so we were looking for a relatively affordable place with some amenities. Leon d'Oro fit the bill perfectly. Our room was functiona..."l - not overly fancy but very clean, with a comfortable bed and its own bathroom (a plus!). The location was perfect- very close to downtown. Overall, a great experience. We also ate at the Restaurant twice over the course of our stay, which was absolutely lovely both times. We really enjoyed the old fashioned, traditional and yet delicious and fresh Parmesan food on the menu; from delicious fresh pasta, to choices from the carrelo dei salumi (salamis), carrelo dei bolliti (boiled meats), and the carrelo degli arrosti (roasted meats).
