  "I was very pleasantly surprised with the Cafe Walter. The cafe and snacks are very good, and the atmosphere is very cozy. We had a latte machiatto and a chai latte and both were really good. But the deal breaker was the "tapas". Unlike other places, these do not try to emulate spanish tapas, bu..."t (maybe because of that) they are amazingly good. The home made olive tapenade, with big chunks of olives and tomatoes, and the dattel in bacon were one of the best tapas I have tried in Köln so far. Of course with the tapas, we moved into wine, which was also above average. The place is decorated as a living room, with low tables and sofas. Unlike other places (wonton, etc...which seem to be trying too hard to be "hipster"), the cafe Walter really manages to create a confortable environment.   "I dined at this restaurant twice in a row. It was close to my hotel and my customers liked it. Italian staff, Menu on a board that is brought to your table. Twice ate fish, very good. Wine selection good. Not tried the dessert. Very busy, better to reserve. Has outside tables with some heating."
