"Was out On Bank Holiday Monday and looking for somewhere to eat late afternoon and remembered Rachels Cafe at Hagworthingham which is on our way home and hopefully stiill opening to 6pm Monday-Friday(last orders 5.30pm)and she was.,quite a few holiday makers in ,mostly complaining about the amount ..."of traffic on the road. This is a clean and pleasant cafe, with quite a n extensive menu,i opted for gammon ,egg and pineapple ,chips ,peas and mushrooms, all freshly cooked and well presented and a very good portion all for £5.50p.the staff are very friendly as is Rachel herself. There are also daily specials and Sunday lunch is a must ,go later rather than earlier as 12-2.30pm is very busy, especially as you can get 2 medium Sunday roasts for £8,so if travelling from the coast or to the coast ,call in here and have a break ,they do a take away service.

"It is unfair to criticise a business so newly established and still "learning", especially when such a large party arrives, anyone would be thrown by so many diners all arriving at once, but wanting to pay separately....how unfair!
We were delighted, so tasteful both in the Cafe, and the layout and..." nature of the plants on display.I have visited so many Garden Centres, with disinterested or ignorant staff, and tired and sad looking plants, THIS was such an improvement.....! Spoke to several staff and asked for help on a couple of items, they do seem to know their stock and helped with advice, not always available elsewhere. It is so clean and tidy and obviously aiming to be that "little bit different", new stock and unusual plants still arriving, a visit here will be a joy and somewhere that you will certainly wish to return to.
We are looking forward to coming back, when we have ...

"What an absolutely delightful experience, this is how dinning should be! The OK Diner knocks spots off Moto, Welcome Break, Little Chef and Road Chef and actually with a lot of pubs and chains you’d find on the high street, Harvester, Toby Carvery, Whetherspoons, etc. Not only is the quality of the ..."food very good so is the pricing. My biggest complaint with roadside services is the absolutely extortionate prices they charge under the guise of food outlets being franchised, not only this but the quality is dreadful. These larger chains could learn a lot about customer service, good quality food and exceptional value from a business like the OK Diner, frankly I’d urge all travellers using the A1 (north or southbound) to make a point of stopping in an OK Diner, it should be part of your journey as it’s so enjoyable. My husband and I sat in a booth and enjoyed a coke float, root beer, chilli burger, banana split and a stack of onion rings with 3 different dips! All tasted like real food, a...
