"We asked someone at London Drugs where to eat and they highly recommended this restaurant. It is easy to find as it is in the Tyee Plaza across from the Visitor's Centre. It is a little hidden as you have to walk through a side alley, just ask someone where it is for quick access. My husband had the..." cheese sandwich and soup and I had a lovely grilled vegetable salad, both were delicious. They use Kicking Horse coffee which is really good. We had a real chuckle about the animal table markers used to identify the orders to be served. Obviously there is a sense of humour in the place. We found the staff delightful but we went around 2 p.m. so it wasn't crazy busy. The prices were good.

"We were so excited to find Miki at her new restaurant venue as we had regularly visited her previous restaurant and were sad when she closed. The sushi is great, fresh, well made and with interesting combinations. The restaurant overlooks a marina so lovely views over the water. Staff are friendly (..."particularly Miki) and service is prompt. The servings are generous and as far as my husband is concerned, their Salmon Rolls are the best he's had and he has tasted a good many of these, having regularly tried various sushi restaurants in Vancouver when we lived there for 10 years! We love their spicy Shrimp Wonton Soup and their Volcano Roll (and of course the Salmon Roll). We own a resort halfway between Courtenay and Campbell River and always recommend Miki's to our visitors. This says a lot as we are cautious as to what we recommend due to concern that our guests have a good dining experience.

"Although the location is not a topper, this pub-style restaurant definitely is. This is a very child-friendly place. When arriving, the children received a child-menu fresh sheet which they could use as painting sheet, together with some crayons. The children ordered chicken and fries with a nice ic..."ecream as dessert, and we ate a mexican burger with salad (very fresh) and ribs. The waitress informed several times if everything was ok or something needed. Our meal ended with a nice surprise: the bill! It turned out that the children eat for free at Sunday after 4pm... so we had a lovely meal for the 5 of us and we only paid... for our two meals. Ofcourse, we gave the waitress a nice tip, we had such a nice evening!
