"Back in November was the second time I went to Troica. My first time was in April, during our honeymoon in Las Terrenas. My husband, who lived in Russia for a year, will jump at any chance to eat Russian food. So of course when I pointed this place out we had to go. When you step in, you kinda feel ..."like you're in a very cozy old-ish house - they even have the chest of drawers (where plates and silverware are kept) with the matryoska dolls on top. Ok, now to the food: you can get some non-Dominican beer here (German I think - would be great and funny to find Baltikas here) which is always nice. Okay, now to the food. Since I've been there twice, I'll just kind of talk about the things I've tried. Borsch, of course - delicious and fresh. Really good borsch here. We've also had the pelmeni. I had a chicken blini last time I was there - a heavier appetizer but if you don't want a super hearty meal you can order a bowl of borsch and one of the blinis in the appetizer section and you're good...

"So glad we made it to this place before leaving tomorrow. Genuine Russian food & such effervescent service from Nikolai the owner. We tried the borsch (which I'm picky about-it was perfect), the pelmeni - excellent, & the beef, that we could cut with a fork & was cooked to perfection medium rare. Wi..."th a drink each (plus "presents" of vodka shots) we spent less than $30 US. Only regret: It was our last night in LT & we had other goodbyes to make. Wish we'd had more time to get to know Nikolai! Super clean & pride of ownership evident.
