  "We were staying in pistoia and arrived tired and hungry to our b&b. when we asked where the owners would go eat if they were dining out, they said Da Marino, a family run institution in the area. What a find!! Seems a bit off the beaten path if you are traveling by highway only, but if you navigate ..."the secondary roads (aka the scenic route) it is very easy to find. We arrived and immediately were welcomed liked regulars and treated as such. The food was amazing and authentic. The owner even took his time to suggest and explain some traditional dishes along with wonderful stories of the restaurants history. He and his family truly have a passion for their restaurant and it shows. He offered us many "assagi" on the house. A wonderful dining experience was made even better when he explained his wife made all the desserts. Her passion shows in the skill and flavor of her desserts. Like dining in a 5 star NYC restaurant.   "Foodies? Yes, guilty as charged! I own two restaurants in the Caribbean, my boyfriend is an Italian chef. This was hands down one of my best meals in italy during the last 4 years. And if you consider the price, MORE than outstanding. We came on a theme night , had 4 courses plus wine for 35€. The ..."food was a standout, view sublime, each dish delivered by the chef.
