"There aren't too many choice of restaurants around the Kawaguchiko station, especially when it is 5 degree celcius, you don't want to walk around to look for restaurants.
Houtou Fudoh has 3 branches. The one in front of the train station is just across the street, in the tastefully constructed se..."tting. "Uemon Cafe is located on the north shore of Lake Kawaguchi just before the Kawaguchiko Art Museum and Music Box Forest. Take a right at the first stop light and it is 300 meters from there.
The cafe itself is on the second floor. It is an English friendly cafe serving a mix of western and Japanes..."e style coffeehouse drinks and homemade pastries. Everything is fresh and delicious! When I was there, I had the Okinawa black sugar and ginger latte which was amazing! I also had a espresso mocha muffin.
The cafe is owned by a friendly Japanese woman who spent 10 years in America and Canada. She and her husband also operate an English conversation school from the cafe. It is fun to spend time there and interact with Japanese locals who enjoy learning English. The cafe offers free wi-fi for customers, so it is a great place to check emails, upload photos, etc.
I highly recommend Uemon Cafe for its' laid back atmosphere, elegant interior, and wide selection of drinks. You can try som...

"Drop by Uemon Cafe for delicious homebaked goods, English lessons and conversation, and western / Japanese drinks in a beautifully decorated environment. The owner (who speaks excellent English) is extremely friendly and has spent a number of years abroad. Uemon cafe offers free Wifi (rare outside T..."okyo), making it an ideal place to study and work. There are also a number of English and Japanese books and magazines to flick through, as well as gorgeous trinkets and gifts on display. I completely recommend this cafe; it's stylish, beautifully designed, and above all, extremely welcoming.
