"I am here for 2 months, staying just down the street from this lovely eatery. Others have been here in the past, but the current owners are doing a great job. It sits on a corner and gets a nice breeze from the beach.
We have been here several times for our noon meal. We get a traditional Domini..."can Plata del Dio, The Plate of the Day. There is usually a choice of beef, pork or chicken, stewed in a traditional Guisado. It is served with a large portion of rice and beans or rice with a vegetable mixed in. It comes with a nice salad. All this for 135 pesos, about $3.40. There is more than we can eat and end up taking some home.
The service is excellant, provided by a young Dominican man who speaks English and is very attentive. We are planning to be back for an evening meal. This is a place you must try if you are in the area.

"Great place for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Homemade "real" bagels for breakfast. My favorite cinnamon/raisin. Plato del dia (Plate of the day) for lunch $135 RD. Can't go wrong with this!
Dinner menu has a little of everything. My favs are chicken cordon bleu, black & blue hamburger or pasta w/sh..."rimp in garlic sauce.
Run by a personable young Dominican that speaks great english and has even learned English humor. Very entertaining!
Take-out, delivery and special orders are all acceptable and welcomed. A great meeting place for a lot of the local residents. Enjoy!

"Café is the right name for the Anchor, one can not really call it a restaurant. However, it is the place to be if you enjoy a very good breakfast. Most of it freshly baked. I would say, the best in Pop. At noon, you can enjoy a typical Dominican dish, beef, pork or chicken, different every day,at a ..."very reasonable price and good value for money. I rather enjoy the Anchor because it is although small, nice and cosy, where a lot of USA and EU foreigners meet and the latest local and international news is discussed in about 4 to 5 languages ! Thus, a nice meeting place for
locals as wel as for newcommers. The service is very simple but excellent. A must if you visit Costambar for the first time. Thereafter you can decide for yourself. See you there !
