I just ate here for the second time and was thoroughly impressed by really delicious and beautifully cooked food. It's also a fun and much needed "local" for the Westmount crowd, but the bottom line of any restaurant is a great meal, and I think it delivers in spades. Plus we had delightful and attentive service from a very nice... More

Tavern on the Square tonight was a delight. And in the theme of Cheers where everybody knows your name it was old home week. A cousin, a childhood friend, a buddy from Old Montreal, a former journalist colleague, a table full of friends of my parents. The things you love about a good resto in Westmount. If we think it's... we had a quick dinner for 6 for $250 and asked for some extra tomato sauce for the very average pasta and guess what? they charged us $3 for the extra sauce!! it is obviously the principle of it considering we spent $250. wow. over-rated.

I work in the Alexis Nihon towers right next door and this restaurant was excellent for Dinner at it's other location in NDG neighbourhood of Montreal. For lunch, however, I just had my second bad experience and won't be heading back for a third try. I order the hamburger, medium rare, which took 57 minutes to bring and arrived completely... More

Original special of the day. Always tasteful. Some waiter have attitude but I always ask to sit in my faverate waitress section. I never get bored of their menu.

The Tavern is without doubt one of the best restaurants in the city and I have never had a bad meal there yet. I live within a 10 minute walk of the Tavern, thus it has become our "local" and I find myself eating there several times a month. The restaurant is open plan with an open kitchen at one... More

First, it is not cheap... About $100 per person with wine and service. Second, with a reservation for 19h we are asked when we arrive if we can free the table for 20h30... Which we politely decline (it is my birthday). Then a group of 10 sit next to us. Not loud, very loud. We can not have a conversation... More

We live about a kilometer from the restaurant, and eat here fairly regularly. The food is pretty much always great and one of the best things about this restaurant is that they constantly change the "specials" so as a "regular" we often try new things. I usually order the same thing at my favorite Montreal eateries but here it's always... More

The restaurant is very noisy and quite busy. The food is okay without being what one might refer to as gourmet. It's a good lunch place but not really a place to go for a quiet get together with friends or colleagues. The service is fairly good without being top-notch. It's a bit pricey for what they offer. There are... More

We found a note about this restaurant on Fodors, and on at trip to Montreal partly to enjoy great eating decided to give it a try. It is not near the touristy parts of the city, which was a bit of a relief, but an easy ride on the Metro to Station Atwater. They don't help much with their preferred... More
